This course providesĀ Science & Engineering students with the main academicĀ principles,Ā andĀ practical aspects to properly extend their comprehension and understanding. This course is aĀ combination ofĀ Ā academical and technical work experience provided by VISION organization.
First, the course givesĀ an introduction on various definitions and tasks used in Petroleum Engineering then it proceeds to discuss reservoir fluids properties and how they are obtained using different correlations. further more, a detailed explanation on the Voluemetric & Reserve estimation is included, also how to useĀ differentĀ volumetric approaches to estimate OOIP/OGIP and other parameters.
In the second and third portions, the course introduces recovery of hydrocarbons and types of Recovery Factor in separate time intervals. In addition, a heavy & interesting subject that is Material Balance Equation is well illustrated and discussed using both types of solutions equations and graphical solution.
Fluid Flow & Displacement Efficiency Ā is considered as the fourth potion of the course that talks about fractional flow, front advancement theory, and both areal and verticalĀ sweep efficiency.
The last portion of the course is a curve fitting technique called ‘Decline Curve Analysis’, in this, the student walks through different types of decline trends and will be able to forecast production and estimate the remaining life of the well.
The provided material is fromĀ Ā Ph.d.Adel Elzwei & the book of ‘The Key Elements of Applied Reservoir Engineering’.
