In this course, we will be starting off by looking into what essentially is the Indus Valley Civilization.  This civilization is also known as the Harappa civilization. We will then be looking into detail about the history of architecture of the Indus Valley Civilization. Indus Valley Civilization is well known for its town planning and its urban sanitation systems. We will also be learning about why it is so well known.

Then we will be going through some of its famous cities –  Harappan (for which the civilization is named after), Mohenjo-Daro – one of the largest cities of the Indus Valley Civilization. We will also learn about other cities of Lothal – which is known for one of the world’s earliest dockyard and Dholavira – the city which is famed for its water harvesting systems.

While concluding, we will be going through on why this great civilization of the Indian sub continent must have declined before summarizing the course.

This ancient civilization of the Indian sub-continent is worth a look to understand and marvel at the earliest examples of the transportation, sanitation systems, town planning.
