Welcome to the Archgyan Sketchup + Vray course!
We will learn how to model a Kitchen from scratch and do a photo-realistic render on Vray Next. We will also learn how to render 360° panoramic images for virtual reality.
By the end of the course, you will have a solid understanding of Sketchup & Vray. This course is taught by an Architect with over 5+ years experience in the field. He shares great tips & tricks which won't be found anywhere else on the internet. So stay tuned till the end.
Towards the end of the course, we will be sharing our library & resources which contains a lot of useful Sketchup+Vray content.
In this brief video, we will learn how to download and install sketchup & vray. Please click on the links below, to download them accordingly:
Introduction to Sketchup
In this video, we will learn how to import CAD into sketchup the right way. You can create your own Kitchen on CAD & import it into sketchup or you can use the file linked to this video.
In this video, we will learn how to create walls and openings with our basic sketchup tools. And also learn how to assign shortcuts.
In this video, we will learn to create doors and windows in our openings. The more knowledge of construction methods and techniques, the better and faster you can model in Kitchen. This is the main reason why being an Architect and understanding the thickness of various materials really helps.
In this lesson, we will learn how to create Kitchen placeholders the right ways, which of course is with groups. You can implement the same technique to model other interior elements too like wardrobes and furniture.
Assigning Colors & Materials the right way is important when it comes to modeling & rendering in Sketchup. In this module, we teach just that.
Most tutorials online don't teach you to place models and rename materials the right way. In this video, we learn to download and import materials from 3D warehouse and rename them accordingly.
Introduction to Vray
This is our introduction to Vray where we jump right in and start applying Vray materials. We discuss the parameters that vray has to offer and how if used effectively, can render beautiful results.
We discuss positioning cameras to get the right frame, importance of having an enclosed space, creating and applying glass materials, creating Metal, Chrome, Wood materials and more.
In this lesson, we go step by step in adding lights to our scene. We start with the ceiling downlights and then add lights to our Wall Cabinets & Skirting Light. We then check the settings of the lights in the vray interactive mode and check to see if it is illuminating the scene the right way. Towards, the end of this video, you will learn how to add and create a beautifully lit scene for your kitchen.
In this lesson, we learn how to create a Day Render with vray for sketchup. We learn to set up the model according to north direction, check shadows and understand lighting better.
When you get a passport size photo done in India, you will have the camera set up with it's right settings, studio lights, and more. This is similar to when a professional Interior Photographer shoots a space. The same logic is followed by Vray where we setup the right filler lights, check camera settings, and then do the final render.
This is a crucial lesson if you're concerned about maintaining vray libraries and model libraries (with vray materials applied). Archgyan is building a custom Model library with high definition materials, which we will be sharing soon.
In this lesson, we learn how to render a night scene with sketchup & vray. And also the importance of loading HDRIs in sketchup.
In this lesson, we learn how to render a 360° Panoramic Image with Sketchup & Vray. We then proceed to upload this image into Youtube and get a virtual tour of our space.
Thanks for watching till the end. To keep the learning going, I've attached a lot of materials and resources available in the "External Resources" links.
